More Details on Our Top Picks
GUEVARA 8″ Big Round Outdoor Cigars Ash Tray for Patio/Outside/Indoor
This porcelain ashtray excels in outdoor settings, with a large 8-inch diameter and four cigar rests that resist wind and prevent ash spills, making it ideal for patios. Compared to the Outdoor Silicone Cigar Ashtray, its sturdy porcelain build offers a more stable resting place but comes with a higher risk of cracks during shipping. Its deep basin helps contain ash, yet it lacks additional features like a lid. While perfect for those who prioritize a traditional, wind-resistant design, it isn’t suited for indoor use where a more refined look or lighter weight might be preferred.
Pros:- Sturdy and durable porcelain construction
- Wind-resistant design with resting lips
- Large size suitable for outdoor use
Cons:- Potential for cracks or breakage during shipping
- Limited to outdoor and indoor use
Best for: Cigar enthusiasts needing a durable, wind-resistant outdoor ashtray for patio or garden use
Not ideal for: Indoor users or those seeking a lightweight, easily portable ashtray for frequent relocation
- Diameter:7.87 in
- Height:2.48 in
- Weight:1.98 lb
- Material:Porcelain
- Number of cigar rests:4
Our verdict“This ashtray is best for outdoor spaces where durability and wind resistance outweigh portability concerns.”
Premium Wooden Cigar Ashtray with Cigar Cutter – 4 Slot Holder
This walnut wood ashtray distinguishes itself through its natural, unique grain and heat-resistant varnish, making it a stylish and durable choice. Unlike the GUEVARA Big Round, which favors outdoor resilience, this model emphasizes craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal, suitable for indoor lounges or outdoor patios. Its four slots accommodate various cigar sizes, and the included cutter adds value. However, its wood construction requires careful maintenance to prevent damage over time, unlike metal or silicone options. It’s an excellent pick for those who want a natural, sophisticated look paired with practical features, but less so for high-traffic outdoor areas prone to moisture or rough handling.
Pros:- Unique natural walnut wood grain
- Heat-resistant varnish coating
- Includes cigar cutter and four slots
Cons:- Requires careful maintenance and cleaning
- Wood may warp or stain with heavy use
Best for: Cigar lovers seeking a visually appealing, durable ashtray with cutter for home or patio use
Not ideal for: Users who prefer low-maintenance, easy-to-clean materials or highly portable options
- Material:Walnut wood with varnish coating
- Slots:4 cigar holders
- Special Features:Unique wood grain, heat resistant
- Best Sellers Rank:#32 in Home Ashtrays
Our verdict“This pick is ideal for those valuing craftsmanship and aesthetics in a versatile indoor/outdoor setting.”
Premium Triangle Cigar Ashtray with Deep Basin, Holds 3 Cigars
This triangular ashtray offers a stable platform with a deep basin that can hold ash and butts, reducing the need for frequent emptying. Its unique shape ensures a firm grip on three cigars at once, making it more space-efficient than the GUEVARA Round. The deep basin is a major advantage over shallow models like the Silicone Outdoor Ashtray, especially in windy conditions, but it lacks a lid, which could be problematic in gusts. Its weather-resistant build makes it suitable for outdoor use, though its style might be a bit less traditional. It’s perfect for those who appreciate a distinctive look and want a sturdy, functional ashtray for multiple cigars.
Pros:- Stable triangle design holds 3 cigars securely
- Deep basin reduces ash spillage
- Weather-resistant and durable
Cons:- No lid to contain odor or ash in windy conditions
- Material specifics not disclosed
Best for: Cigar enthusiasts who prefer a stable, multi-cigar holder with a deep ash basin for outdoor or indoor use
Not ideal for: People who need a compact or discreet ashtray for small spaces or light travel
- Design:Triangle
- Cigar Capacity:3 cigars
- Basin:Deep, large capacity
- Use:Indoor and outdoor
- Durability:Weather-resistant
Our verdict“This model suits those who want a stable, deep-basin ashtray that balances form and function in outdoor settings.”
Outdoor Silicone Cigar Ashtray with 4 Rest Holders, Unbreakable, Weatherproof, Large Square Design
This silicone ashtray delivers durability and practicality, with four wide rests suitable for all cigar sizes. Its large square footprint (6×6 inches) makes it stable on uneven surfaces and easy to clean. Unlike heavier porcelain or wood options, the GUEVARA Big Round or Triangle models, this one is light and unbreakable, ideal for casual outdoor settings. However, its square shape and matte black finish might not blend seamlessly with more elegant decor. It’s a straightforward, resilient choice for those who prioritize ease of use and longevity over design finesse, making it perfect for active outdoor use or frequent transport.
Pros:- Unbreakable and weatherproof silicone
- Large size with four wide rests
- Easy to clean with water or soap
Cons:- Limited color options (only matte black)
- Square shape may not suit all decor styles
Best for: Casual outdoor users who want a durable, easy-to-clean ashtray for patio or garden use
Not ideal for: Those seeking a more refined aesthetic or a lightweight option for indoor or formal environments
- Material:Silicone
- Dimensions:6 inches x 6 inches x 1.5 inches
- Color:Matte Black
- Number of Rest Holders:4
- Weatherproof:Yes
Our verdict“This pick is best for outdoor enthusiasts who need a tough, low-maintenance ashtray that can withstand the elements.”
roygra Outdoor Cigar Ashtray, 4 Holder Flexible Silicone Ash Tray for Patio
The roygra Outdoor Cigar Ashtray emphasizes flexibility and outdoor resilience, with four large rests fitting all cigar gauges. Its unbreakable silicone construction makes it highly portable and suitable for bars, patios, or balcony use. Compared to the GUEVARA porcelain, this model offers greater portability and is less prone to cracking, but it may lack the premium feel of ceramic or wood. Its windproof and rainproof features make it a reliable choice for outdoor environments, though some might find its lightweight nature less substantial visually. This is an excellent pick for those who need a rugged, easy-to-clean ashtray that travels well and withstands the elements.
Pros:- Unbreakable, flexible silicone
- Windproof, rainproof, heat-resistant
- Fits all cigar sizes with 4 large rests
Cons:- Lightweight silicone may feel less premium
- Limited color options (only black)
Best for: Outdoor patio or balcony users wanting a flexible, unbreakable ashtray for all weather conditions
Not ideal for: Indoor users seeking a more elegant or heavier ashtray for formal settings
- Material:Silicone
- Dimensions:4.92 x 4.92 x 1.5 inches
- Cigar Rests:4
- Model Number:SiliconeAshtray-L-BK
- Unit Count:2
Our verdict“This model excels for outdoor use where durability, portability, and weather resistance are priorities.”
INONE Stainless Steel Smokeless Ashtray with Lid
This heavy-duty stainless steel ashtray is designed to withstand outdoor elements with its windproof and rainproof features, making it ideal for patios or cafes where weather can be unpredictable. Its conical shape and non-slip bottom ensure stability even in gusty conditions, setting it apart from lighter, more fragile options like the silicone Roygra. However, the small capacity limits usability for heavy smokers, and the manual lid operation can be less convenient during busy moments. Compared to the Roygra silicone model, it offers a more premium, durable build but sacrifices portability and ease of cleaning in outdoor environments.
Pros:- Heavy-duty stainless steel construction resists deformation and corrosion
- Windproof and rainproof design prevents ash from blowing away
- Lid helps contain odors and ash, keeping surroundings clean
- Non-slip bottom protects surfaces from scratches
Cons:- Limited capacity may require frequent emptying for heavy smokers
- Lid operation is manual, which can be inconvenient
Best for: Cigar enthusiasts who frequently smoke outdoors in variable weather conditions and need a stable, odorless solution.
Not ideal for: Casual or indoor-only smokers who prefer larger capacity ashtrays or more decorative designs, as this is primarily built for weather resistance and practicality.
- Material:Stainless Steel
- Dimensions:3.54″ x 3.0″ x 3.38″
- Special Features:Smell Proof, Windproof, Rainproof
- Best Sellers Rank:#3,449 in Home & Kitchen; #1 in Home Ashtrays
- ASIN:B07XJYSNJ9
- UPC:719209264655
Our verdict“This ashtray is perfect for outdoor settings where weather stability and odor control are priorities, though it’s less suited for high-volume or indoor use.”
Mifoci 12 Pack Black Square Silicone Ashtrays with Cigar Rest Slots
This set of 12 unbreakable silicone ashtrays offers incredible flexibility for indoor and outdoor use, with wide cigar rests and a non-slip base. Compared to the Roygra silicone ashtray with cutters, these are more budget-friendly for multiple locations but lack the premium appearance of glass or crystal options. Their large size may be cumbersome for small tables, and silicone can develop odors over time if not properly cleaned. Still, their durability and high volume make them ideal for busy bars or camping trips, especially when compared to more delicate ceramic or glass models which aren’t as rugged.
Pros:- Unbreakable silicone construction ensures durability
- Includes 12 pieces suitable for multiple locations
- Wide cigar rest slots accommodate various cigar sizes
- Non-slip base prevents sliding and surface damage
Cons:- Too large for compact or minimalist spaces
- Silicone may retain odors over time
Best for: Bars, cafes, or event spaces needing numerous affordable, durable ashtrays for multiple simultaneous users.
Not ideal for: Small apartments or elegant indoor lounges where aesthetics are prioritized over bulk capacity and ruggedness, as these are utilitarian and bulky.
- Material:Silicone
- Number of Pieces:12
- Dimensions:3.94 x 3.94 x 1.06 inches
- Color:Black
- Features:Drop-resistant, non-scratch base, wide cigar rests, easy to clean
- ASIN:B0GWGZ2PS5
Our verdict“This pack excels in providing durable, multi-use ashtrays for busy environments, though they may be too bulky for small spaces or aesthetic-focused settings.”
Roygra Cigar Ashtray with 3-Cutter Set – Outdoor Silicone Ashtray for Patio
This silicone ashtray, bundled with three cutters—guillotine, v-cut, and punch—offers a comprehensive package for cigar lovers who value convenience and outdoor use. Its unbreakable design withstands weather and handling, similar to the Roygra silicone model, but adds the appeal of included cutters. Unlike the simpler silicone ashtray without tools, this set provides a more complete experience, though the plastic components of the cutters may diminish long-term durability. Its minimalist look may not match the aesthetics of high-end glass or crystal ashtrays, but it prioritizes function and versatility outdoors.
Pros:- Unbreakable silicone construction resists outdoor elements
- Includes three different cutters suitable for all cigar sizes
- Windproof and rainproof design for outdoor use
- Easy to clean and comes in a gift box
Cons:- Cutters partly made of plastic, potentially reducing longevity
- Minimalist design lacks the elegance of glass or crystal ashtrays
Best for: Outdoor cigar smokers seeking a versatile, all-in-one solution with cutting tools included, especially for patios or casual gatherings.
Not ideal for: Indoor or formal settings where premium appearance or dedicated aesthetic design matters more than multi-functionality, as the set leans towards practicality and outdoor durability.
- Material:Silicone (ashtray); Stainless steel and plastic (cutters)
- Dimensions:5.9 x 5.9 x 1.5 inches
- Cigar Rests:4
- Number of Items:4 (ashtray, guillotine cutter, v-cut cutter, cigar punch)
- Indoor/Outdoor Usage:Outdoor
- ASIN:B0DPN4D847
Our verdict“This all-in-one set is ideal for outdoor cigar fans who want durability and cutting versatility, though it may lack the premium aesthetic of more refined options.”
Roygra Cigar Ash Tray with Lid, Outdoor Ashtray for Patio, 4 Holder
This metal ashtray features a lid for wind and rain protection, along with four grooves for cigars and a central platform for extinguishing. Its durable construction makes it suitable for outdoor settings like patios and gardens, particularly when compared to smaller or less protective options like the INONE stainless steel model. The weight and robust build can be a drawback for portability or indoor use, and the lack of detailed size specs limits precise planning. Still, the large capacity and weatherproof features make it a reliable choice for cigar smokers who value capacity and protection over aesthetics.
Pros:- Metal construction with windproof and rainproof design
- Large capacity reduces frequency of emptying
- Multiple grooves for cigars and a central extinguishing platform
- Easy to clean with disassemblable parts
Cons:- Heavy weight may reduce portability
- Size may occupy significant table space
Best for: Cigar lovers who prioritize large capacity and outdoor durability, especially in windy or rainy environments.
Not ideal for: Small or indoor spaces where size and weight are concerns, or for those looking for a more decorative aesthetic, as this is primarily a functional, weatherproof model.
- Material:Metal
- Color options:5 colors
- Capacity:Large
- Features:Windproof, rainproof, lid, easy to clean
- ASIN:B0FZ529GPR
Our verdict“This ashtray is well-suited for large outdoor gatherings where capacity and weather resistance are key, but it’s less ideal for compact or indoor settings.”
Extra Large Cigar Ashtray with Lid, Retro Windproof Ashtray with 4 Cigar Rests
This extra-large, vintage-style ashtray combines a windproof lid with a deep, easy-to-clean bowl and four wide cigar rests, making it suitable for patios, bars, and home use. Its hand-oiled finish adds a nostalgic touch that sets it apart from modern, minimalist designs like the Roygra silicone set. While its size offers ample capacity, it may take up substantial table space, and the retro aesthetic might not blend seamlessly with contemporary decor. Compared to smaller, more compact models, this ashtray emphasizes capacity and style over space efficiency, making it ideal for those who want a statement piece.
Pros:- Windproof and rainproof lid contains ash and odor
- Large capacity reduces cleaning frequency
- Four wide cigar rests with a central pillar for stability
- Easy to rinse clean with water
Cons:- Size may be cumbersome on small tables
- Retro style may not suit contemporary decor
Best for: Cigar enthusiasts who want a large, stylish ashtray that can handle multiple cigars outdoors or in vintage-themed interiors.
Not ideal for: Modern or minimalist spaces where a sleek, space-saving design is preferred, as this is a sizable, retro-inspired piece.
- Cigar Rest Width:1.3 inches
- Number of Cigar Rests:4
- Features:Lid, windproof, rainproof, central cigar pillar
- Finish:Hand-oiled vintage pattern
- Best For:Patio, living room, balcony, office, bar, restaurant
Our verdict“This vintage-inspired, large-capacity ashtray is ideal for traditional or outdoor settings where style and function are equally valued, but it may be too bulky for small or modern spaces.”
Roygra Ash Tray (2 Pack), Outdoor Cigar Ashtray for Patio with 4 Holders
This set of two silicone outdoor ashtrays stands out for its weather-resistant qualities, making it ideal for patios and outdoor gatherings. Compared with the ceramic Roygra model, these silicone trays are virtually unbreakable and easier to clean, but they are bulkier and less stylish. The four holders per tray offer ample space for multiple cigars, yet their size may overwhelm small balcony setups. Weatherproof, durable, and simple to maintain, this pick is perfect for those who prioritize outdoor resilience over sleek design.
Pros:- Unbreakable silicone construction withstands outdoor elements
- Weatherproof, rainproof, and sun-resistant
- Easy to clean with water or soap
Cons:- Limited to outdoor environments; not suitable for indoor use
- Size may be too large for small areas or minimalist setups
Best for: Cigar enthusiasts who frequently entertain outdoors and need robust, weatherproof ashtrays.
Not ideal for: Indoor-only users or those with limited space who prefer more compact, aesthetic solutions.
- Quantity:2
- Dimensions:4.92 x 4.92 x 1.5 inches
- Material:Silicone
- Number of Holders:4
Our verdict“A durable, weatherproof choice for outdoor cigar lovers who need resilience and easy maintenance.”
Square Metal Cigar Ashtray for Outdoor Patio and Home
Compared with the silicone Roygra set, this metal ashtray emphasizes durability and a stylish finish, making it suitable for both outdoor patios and indoor bars. Its polished chrome/gunmetal surface offers a sophisticated look, but it can show fingerprints and smudges over time, requiring occasional cleaning. The four large cigar rests are well-suited for cigars up to 60 ring gauge, providing ample space for casual or frequent smokers. While sturdy, it may be smaller than some heavy smokers prefer during large gatherings, and its metal finish might not appeal to those seeking a more decorative or artistic design.
Pros:- Sturdy alloy metal with a sleek, polished finish
- Four large cigar rests accommodate bigger cigars
- Easy to clean with a center dome for ash collection
Cons:- May be small for heavy smokers or large gatherings
- Finish can easily show fingerprints and smudges
Best for: Cigar connoisseurs who value durability, style, and versatility for both indoor and outdoor use.
Not ideal for: Large groups or smokers who prefer deep basins or multiple cigar slots for bigger gatherings.
- Material:Alloy metal
- Finish:Polished chrome/gunmetal
- Dimensions:5.91 x 5.91 x 1.58 inches
- Weight:1.2 pounds
- Cigar Rests:4
- Ring Gauge Compatibility:40-60
Our verdict“A stylish, durable option best suited for individual or small-group outdoor and indoor cigar sessions.”
Roygra Ceramic Cigar Ash Tray, Outdoor Single Holder
Unlike the previous options designed for multiple users, this ceramic ashtray is tailored for solo use, with a compact design that fits easily on small tables or countertops. Its waterproof and heat-resistant ceramic makes it ideal for outdoor use, but the single groove limits its capacity, making it less suitable for gatherings. The ceramic material offers a classic look, yet it may be fragile if dropped. Compared with the silicone or metal options, this tray excels in aesthetic appeal and heat resistance but falls short in capacity and group-friendly features.
Pros:- Durable, heat-resistant ceramic construction
- Compact and highly portable
- Waterproof and easy to clean with a simple groove for cigars
Cons:- Designed for single user, not suitable for groups
- Limited capacity makes it less practical for shared use
Best for: Individual cigar smokers who need a portable, heat-resistant tray for outdoor or indoor use.
Not ideal for: Groups or social settings where multiple cigars are smoked simultaneously, due to its single holder design.
- Material:Ceramic
- Dimensions:4.8 x 2.6 x 1 inches
- Use:Single person
- Waterproof:Yes
- Heat-resistant:Yes
Our verdict“A sleek, heat-resistant ceramic tray perfect for solo outdoor cigar enjoyment or small indoor spaces.”
How We Picked
Products were evaluated based on build quality, ease of cleaning, capacity, weather resistance, and overall design. We prioritized items that offer durability for outdoor use without sacrificing style, and those that incorporate practical features like multiple rests or lids. The ranking reflects a balance between value, functionality, and aesthetic appeal, aiming to recommend options suitable for different budgets and preferences. We considered both consumer reviews and product specifications to ensure each pick demonstrates consistent quality and usability for cigar enthusiasts.Factors to Consider When Choosing Cigar Ashtrays
Choosing the right cigar ashtray involves considering several factors that impact usability, durability, and style. A good ashtray should match your smoking environment—whether outdoor or indoor—and your aesthetic preferences. It’s also important to think about size and capacity, especially if you often host multiple guests. Material choice affects durability and cleaning, while added features like lids or cigar rests can enhance convenience. Understanding these factors can help you avoid common pitfalls like purchasing a fragile or undersized model that doesn’t meet your needs.Material Durability and Weather Resistance
Materials like stainless steel and silicone excel at resisting weather and are easy to clean, making them ideal for outdoor use. Wooden and ceramic models often look more stylish but may require more maintenance and are less resistant to the elements. Consider where you’ll place the ashtray most often—outdoor setups benefit from unbreakable, weatherproof materials, while indoor use allows for more decorative options. Choosing the right material can significantly extend the lifespan of your ashtray and reduce maintenance effort.
Size and Capacity
The size of your ashtray should match your smoking habits. Larger models with multiple rests are suited for social settings or frequent use, reducing the need for constant emptying. Compact ashtrays are more portable and fit better on small tables or desks but might require more frequent cleaning. Think about where you’ll store it and how many cigars you typically smoke at once, balancing capacity with convenience for your specific situation.
Design and Aesthetic Appeal
Style matters if the ashtray is a visible part of your space. Wooden, ceramic, and metal designs offer a range of aesthetics from rustic to modern. Some models incorporate additional features like cigar cutters or lids, which add convenience but can increase complexity and cost. Always consider how the design complements your environment—an elegant, minimal model might suit a refined lounge, while a rugged silicone tray works well outdoors.
Features and Functional Additions
Extra features like lids, multiple rests, or integrated cutters can improve usability. Lids help contain ash and reduce odors, while multiple rests support sharing among friends. However, these features can also add to the price or make cleaning more complicated. Focus on features that genuinely enhance your smoking experience without overcomplicating the design or inflating the cost.
Price and Value
Budget options often deliver basic functionality but may lack durability or style. Premium models tend to offer superior materials and additional features, justifying higher prices for serious enthusiasts. When selecting, consider how much you’re willing to invest and whether the features align with your needs. Sometimes, paying more upfront results in a longer-lasting, more attractive piece that enhances your smoking space.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a standard ashtray for cigars?
While some standard ashtrays can hold cigars temporarily, they often lack the size and design features needed for a comfortable cigar experience. Cigar ashtrays typically have larger rests and deeper basins to accommodate the size and ash of cigars safely. Using a dedicated cigar ashtray not only improves safety but also helps keep your smoking area tidy and free of ash spills.
Are silicone cigar ashtrays durable enough for outdoor use?
Yes, silicone ashtrays are highly durable and weatherproof, making them excellent for outdoor settings. They resist cracking, breaking, and damage from moisture, which can affect metal or ceramic models. However, they may lack the aesthetic appeal of more traditional materials, so consider your environment and style preferences when choosing silicone. Their flexibility also makes them easy to transport and store.
Should I prioritize a large capacity or portability?
This depends on your smoking habits and space constraints. Large capacity ashtrays are better suited for social gatherings or frequent use, reducing the need for constant emptying. Conversely, portable models are ideal for outdoor activities or small indoor spaces where space is limited. Evaluate where you’ll mostly use it and how often you’ll need to empty ash to make the best choice.
Is a lid necessary for outdoor cigar ashtrays?
Including a lid can be very beneficial for outdoor ashtrays, as it helps contain ash, reduce odors, and prevent debris from entering. Lids also provide an extra layer of safety by preventing accidental ash spills or wind-blown ashes. If your outdoor space experiences gusty weather or you value a cleaner look, choosing an ashtray with a lid adds significant convenience.
How much should I expect to spend on a quality cigar ashtray?
Prices vary based on materials, size, and features. Basic silicone or metal models can be found for under $20, suitable for casual users. Mid-range options with enhanced durability or aesthetic appeal typically cost between $30 and $60. Premium, handcrafted, or designer models can go beyond $80, offering superior materials and unique designs for dedicated cigar enthusiasts. Consider your budget alongside your needs for durability, style, and features.
Conclusion
For those seeking the best overall, the GUEVARA 8″ Big Round Outdoor Cigar Ash Tray offers a versatile, durable option suitable for most environments. If you want the best value, the Mifoci 12 Pack Black Silicone Ashtrays provide affordability and practicality for multiple setups or shared spaces. Budget-conscious buyers should consider simple silicone or metal models, while premium enthusiasts might prefer handcrafted ceramic or wood designs for their aesthetic appeal. Beginners or casual smokers will appreciate lightweight, easy-to-clean options, whereas outdoor or frequent users should prioritize weatherproof, large-capacity trays. Ultimately, matching your smoking habits, space, and style preferences will lead to the perfect choice.
